Entering the dry season

Toledo Grass has 18% protein.

Many cattle ranchers are aware that they do not have enough pasture to last through this summer.  In december there will be opportunities to find farmers that have small calves that will not be able to maintain them.  Buying them small, is low risk, because you maximize the growth spurt after they have been weaned.  It is critical that we buy calves that have already been weaned and are grazing, otherwise if we buy them and are not grazing yet, they go through an initial weight loss, until they get use to grazing.
